Project objectives
King Khalid International Airport has witnessed a remarkable transformation through the implementation of the Terminal 1 Renovation Project, which stands out as one of the most ambitious initiatives that have reshaped the airport’s identity and enhanced the quality of infrastructure and services provided to passengers. The project included developing the interior and exterior design of the terminal in line with the highest international standards, expanding operational spaces, upgrading passenger service facilities, and improving operational efficiency through smart systems. This achievement was crowned by Terminal 1 receiving the Best Three Airport Terminal Designs in the World for 2025 award from the prestigious Skytrax organization, in recognition of its excellence in design quality, innovation, and the comfort it offers to travelers.
